A good fit if…
You need a temporary assembly or holding surface and have measured both the working area and its storage space.
Look elsewhere if…
You need a standing platform or a permanent bench with a different documented support arrangement. These folding products do not fill those roles.
Compare Worx Pegasus WX051, Kreg KWS1000, BLACK+DECKER WM425-A and Worx Sidekick WX066 by the work they will support and the place they will live between projects.
Choose the role before the capacity headline
Small assembly work, holding an irregular part and supporting long material are different needs. A vise-style bench is not automatically the best flat assembly table, and a compact table is not a substitute for a dedicated clamping arrangement. Write down representative pieces and the permitted way they will be supported before choosing a format.
Separate the numbers by configuration
A manufacturer can publish different limits for table mode, sawhorse mode, a shelf and a clamp. Do not move a figure from one configuration to another. Where the product page contains conflicting values, check the current manual for the exact model and ask the manufacturer. We deliberately avoid ranking these benches by the largest capacity snippet on a web page.
Measure the project area and the storage
The open tabletop is only part of the working footprint. Include projecting material, adjustment handles and room to move around the work. Then measure the folded product and the route to storage. A bench that fits the garage while open may still be awkward to carry or too tall for its intended cupboard.
Count the accessories actually supplied
Clamps, dogs and connection pieces can make a product useful, but promotional images may show more than the current package includes. List the parts your task needs and compare their combined cost. If linking support products, follow the documented compatibility and setup requirements rather than assuming a shared height makes every combination suitable.
Plan the end of the session
Give unfinished work and small parts somewhere to go before the bench folds. Check the setup and storage instructions, and never treat a workbench as a standing platform. These are researched format comparisons, not stability or load tests. The strongest choice is the one that supports the intended task within its instructions and can be put away without becoming another household obstacle.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| A good fit for | Consider it when the tabletop, clamp arrangement and folded storage size match the work you intend to support. | Consider it for recurring small assemblies where the tabletop pattern and compatible clamps are genuinely useful. | Consider it when holding smaller or irregular pieces is central to the task, within the documented arrangements. | Consider it for a temporary surface that must fit a small storage location between projects. |
| Product format | A folding worktable and sawhorse combination for people who need to pack a project area away between sessions. | A folding assembly and clamping workspace to compare when its accessory system has a role in your projects. | A folding vise-style workbench for readers whose projects benefit from adjustable jaws rather than a plain table. | A compact folding table to compare for small assembly and staging tasks when a dedicated vise is not required. |
| Before you buy | Check the current manual, configuration-specific load limits, clamping range and folded dimensions. | Confirm included clamps versus optional accessories, the current manual and any capacity or carrying-weight detail critical to your setup. | Read the exact model manual for assembly, permitted clamping arrangements and load limits; resolve the conflicting web-page figures. | Confirm the regional package, folded size and current manual. Check weight directly if carrying it is a deciding factor. |
| The trade-off | Table and sawhorse ratings describe different setups; neither makes the product a platform for standing on. | Some promotional images show accessories beyond the listed package; verify them before comparing total cost. | This review deliberately does not recommend a maximum load from the inconsistent product-page copy. | Do not treat the Sidekick as a substitute for the Pegasus bar-clamp arrangement or a dedicated vise. |
