Separate research from experience

Reviews describe published manufacturer information and our assessment of its implications. We do not claim hands-on testing unless an article explains the testing actually performed. Confirm the exact model, package and current specifications before buying.

Show the sources and limits

Comparisons link to the material used for product facts and explain the criteria. We do not invent ratings, prices or a universal winner. Illustrative scenes do not prove a product was tested.

Know when a project needs another kind of help

Building services, structural changes and unknown old materials need appropriate assessment. Our guides and calculators do not certify a property, choose a safe installation method or replace product instructions and qualified advice.

Keep your records under your control
