A 16-foot tape to compare for its finger brake and two-sided markings.

Consider it when retraction control and reading orientation matter more than maximum blade length.

STANLEY lists a 16-foot, 1¼-inch tape with two-sided printing, a finger brake and a multi-catch hook. The product page gives inconsistent reach figures, so this review does not treat reach as a dependable comparison number. Confirm the current specification if that feature governs your decision.

Think about a storage project with repeated vertical and horizontal readings. More than one printed side may suit that routine, but handle the tool to see whether the markings and controls work for you. Check the way the hook contacts the relevant edge. A larger hook is a design difference, not a guarantee that every awkward endpoint becomes easy to measure.

The Premium label is less useful than a concrete reason to choose its controls. A shorter tape with a finger brake may fit your tasks, while a conventional 25-foot model may fit others. Store the manual with the model number and follow its instructions for controlled retraction. We have not tested coating life, calibration or drop resistance, and do not assign this model a durability score.

Confirm FMHT38316S, the 16-foot length, regional scale and current manual. Ask the manufacturer about conflicting reach descriptions if needed.

The manufacturer page contains conflicting reach figures; do not use them to rank this tape against another brand.
