WORKSHOP NOTES

How we put a guide together

Useful measurements, linked sources and honest limits.

Write for a real project

We focus on modest home projects and the preparation around them: dimensions, materials, budgets, ownership and records. Examples help explain a decision; they are not a survey of your property or a professional design.

Separate research from experience

Reviews describe published manufacturer information and our assessment of its implications. We do not claim hands-on testing unless an article explains the testing actually performed. Confirm the exact model, package and current specifications before buying.

Show the sources and limits

Comparisons link to the material used for product facts and explain the criteria. We do not invent ratings, prices or a universal winner. Illustrative scenes do not prove a product was tested.

Know when a project needs another kind of help

Building services, structural changes and unknown old materials need appropriate assessment. Our guides and calculators do not certify a property, choose a safe installation method or replace product instructions and qualified advice.

Keep your records under your control

The browser tools organise the data you enter. Check measurements, quantities and exported files before ordering or sharing. Library dimensions and prices are labelled examples to replace with your own.

Corrections and commercial links

Send the article URL and the detail that needs attention through our contact page. Some links may earn a commission, as explained in the affiliate disclosure.
